This is just above my headboard, and I love it. I used vinyl from Cricutvinylsupplies.com, in a chocolate brown and a copper color. I love how the copper sparkles just a little bit, then the brown really grounds the piece. I have always loved this saying, and thought it would be perfect for our bedroom. I used three different cartridges for this project. I used Opposites Attract for "Always'" Plantin Schoolbook: Roly Poly font for "kiss me goodnight," and the hearts are from Create a Critter 2. I cut the hearts in 3 different sizes. I hope you like my project and that it inspires you to do some home decorating. I have decided that I needed to spend some time away from making cards and catch up on my scrapbooking. Though I have found that making cards is a lot of fun, scrapbooking: documenting and telling our family story will always be my main focus. I found the title "Hangin with my peeps" online and thought that it would be perfect for my pictures from Easter. We have a big, big family with lots of kids and I love that we take a picture of them all on the porch steps just before the big Easter egg hunt. The problem now is that there are so many of them, that it's impossible to get them all to look the right way, not make a face, and smile all at the same time. It's ok, I love the pictures anyway...maybe more because they aren't perfect. I used glitter paper and cardstock from Recollections, but the title, basket, and little birds using my Cricut, and one of my favorite cartridges, Create A Critter 2. The ribbon is all from my scrap stack. I used chalk to "ink" the edges of all the die cuts and the banner. Then used a black zig pen to doing some pen work around the edges of the letters (they needed something to help them stand out). I really love this page, and think that it is super cute.
Blog Update - January 21, 2013: I am super excited to say that my cute little puppy love card won the Pets challenge (Challenge #1 for 2013) at Paper Playtime. As I said in one of my last posts, I decided to make all my christmas cards this year. The problem is that I don't like making the same card over and over again. My solution is to make only 10 to 15 of each design of a card, it keeps it interesting. (And yes, I have a really huge family, so by the end, I will have made a little more than 50 cards). This card was also inspired by my new Create A Critter 2 cricut cartridge. I had the "we wish you a merry christmas" ribbon in my stash, so I though it would make a cute title for the cards. I cut each peice of ribbon at 6 in to cover the length of the card. (The cards are cut at 8 x 6, and once folded in half, create a 4 x 6 card.) I cut all three images using Create A Critter 2, and gluded them together. Next I cut the red ribbon, to "hang" each image from the top of the card. Last, I attached everything to the card, and topped the little star off with a rhinestone. I think it turned out really cute!!! I don't like to waste, so I made 3 additional cards like the one pictured above. The striped paper came from my scraps stash. The Happy Holidays ribbon was a nice touch to finsh them off.
Materials Used: Cricut: Create A Critter 2 Ribbon: Holiday Time by Wal-Mart I decided that I would make all of my christmas cards this year. I have done this in the past, but stopped because it is a lot of work. Since I have a little bit of time this year, I decided that it would be worth the effort to give each of my loved ones something special.
I just bought the cricut cartridge, Create a Critter 2, and OMG, I fell in love with this cute little reindeer. I just knew this wold make a super cute christmas card. This was really easy, I cut out the reindeer and put him together. Next I cut the pattern paper at 2 in, and stamped Season's Greetings at the bottom of the card. To finish, I just gluded it all together.
